The Level 4 Diploma in Project Management is suitable for job roles, in any sector, that involves managing a project as a key responsibility. At Level 4 an individual can expect to be in a more senior role in an organisation. The qualification is designed to develop skills and knowledge, and to support and recognise occupational competence in managing a project to a national occupation level.

Cardiff MetThe qualification is delivered in partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan School of Management with delegates receiving training input into the knowledge element at the beginning of the programme, followed by applying the skills in a real work situation within their employer, resulting in 4 stages of work:

Stage 1: Project Proposal
Stage 2: Project Plan
Stage 3: Managing the Project
Stage 4: Evaluating the Project

  • How the apprenticeship works +

    You will need to complete 3 Mandatory units (totalling 50 credits):

    • Principles of Project Management (knowledge 30 credits)
    • Project Stakeholder Management (competence 10 credits)
    • Project Communications (competence 10 credits)

    Then you will also need to complete 7 Competence units (total 70 credits):

    • Business case, project structure and progress monitoring (10 credits)
    • Managing project scope (10 credits)
    • Managing project schedules (10 credits)
    • Managing project finances (10 credits)
    • Managing project risks (10 credits)
    • Managing project quality (10 credits)
    • Managing project resources (10 credits)

    Initially 1 day a week attendance at the University for teaching – 6 weeks (6 days) plus a further 6 days throughout the programme for Project Presentation, evaluation and reviews in addition to attendance to Acorn for assessments and planning.

ESF logoLearners completing the apprenticeship will have the opportunity to also achieve 20 HE credits at Level 4 from Cardiff Metropolitan University, which could then lead to progression into a relevant HE full programme.
