Acorn backs Council’s awards
Acorn Recruitment and Training has announced it will again support Newport City Council’s Extra Mile Awards.
Newport based Acorn, with 35 office locations UK wide, sponsored the inspirational award ceremony last year and was keen to get involved again.
The Extra Mile Awards aim to recognise remarkable people living and working in the Newport area that have shown commitment in work above the call of duty, as an outstanding volunteer to a charitable organisation, or simply proved themselves to be a valuable member of the community.
Last year’s awards saw winners including Stephanie Thornton who rescued a family of six from their burning flat in Pill and John Wheat who juggles his full time job with being an on-call First Responder.
This year’s awards ceremony will be held on Friday 3rd February at the Celtic Manor Resort.
