Apprenticeships
using Apprenticeships to build the workforce of the future
Academic qualifications can be a great indicator of an individual’s ability for future employers but some people are more suited to a vocational route where they can demonstrate and develop their skills in a more hands-on-environment. To support this requirement Acorn offers a range of Apprenticeship programmes to employers and their Apprentices which is a great way of combining learning with the real world of work.
how Apprenticeships benefit your business
Providing an Apprenticeship vacancy can be very rewarding as well as cost effective. It gives your organisation a unique opportunity to develop and shape your Apprentice in the way that best fits your business; focusing on the skills which will add real value. By choosing a formal Apprenticeship both you and your Apprentice will benefit from the support throughout the Apprenticeship of an Acorn qualified training professional. The Apprentice will broaden their own skill base and gain a formal vocational qualification linked to their job role.
what are the criteria for employing an Apprentice?
An Apprentice would be:
- any age
-
working five days per week in your company (maximum 40 hours)
-
employed on an Apprenticeship contract
-
paid a minimum of £2.50 per hour (for at least the first year of their Apprenticeship, then, if applicable, receive an hourly rate of pay which is in line with the national minimum wage)
-
allowed to complete an industry recognised qualification
how Acorn can help?
Working with Careers Wales and other referral agencies, Acorn has established a network of keen, motivated people all looking for an opportunity to learn and contribute to the workplace. They have met with an Acorn Consultant who has assessed their commitment and interest to work and they are now ready to be placed into a role within your organisation.
