UHOVI in partnership with Acorn Learning & Development UHOVI in partnership with Acorn Learning & Development

Part of the University of South Wales, UHOVI is a groundbreaking, higher education initiative providing new opportunities for local people and businesses.

Since Acorn’s innovative approval in 2011 to deliver work-based Higher Education Level 4 Credit Modules via UHOVI (Universities Heads of the Valleys Institute), Acorn has been ambitious, proactive and determined to make a real difference to local people and businesses. Delivered via bite-sized learning sessions, Acorn has delivered in excess of 1000 credits to more than 50 individuals and, as a result, Higher Education has been made accessible and relevant to the needs of existing individuals and growing industries in the region.

Learning coach

The Learning Coach qualification supports practitioners in their professional development to share experience and good practice. Awarded by Agored Cymru, Acorn developed two methods of delivery to provide a nationally recognised qualification. The delivery of a Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) route and a full delivery course allows students to access the relevant path applicable to their needs.

  • RPL Route  (40 credits)
  • Full Delivery Course (40 credits)
  • Leadership and Management Module (20 credits)
