Course Aims:This workshop aims to build participants’ understanding of the key phases of a project and the roles and responsibilities of a project manager in each phase.
Focus will be on developing participants’ skills in applying basis project management techniques whilst building an understanding on how the different phases of the project impact each other and why a consistent and robust project management approach is required. Elements of PRINCE2 will be incorporated into the Workshop
Course Overview:On completion of the two-day workshop the participants will be able to:
- Understand the key phases of a project and the roles and responsibilities of the project manager in each phase.
- Understand the need to correctly define the project.
- Be able to apply simple project management techniques.
- Produce a project plan.
- Be able to effectively manage communication.
- Understand how to control change and manage risk on projects.
- Understand the value of a post completion analysis and report.
- Understand how the different phases of a project impact on each other.
- Understand why a robust and consistent project methodology is required.
Course Suitable for:The two-day workshop is a combination of tutor led sessions with practical exercises. The programme is designed with high group participation with the opportunity to identify and practice the key skills and their application throughout the workshop
